PANCAKE DAY
TUESDAY 5TH FEBRUARY 2008

Member of the Guild of Fine Food

Shrove Tuesday otherwise known as pancake day Shrove Tuesday is the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday which is the first day of Lent. It's a day of penitence, to clean the soul, and a day of celebration as the last chance to feast before Lent begins. It is traditional to give up certain foods during Lent. So that no food was wasted there would be a feast before Lent began and it is probably from here that the tradition of wrapping food in pancakes began and is continued to this day. To make you own pancakes
